We waterproof tiled roofs.

We've waterproofed a lot of tiled roofs. Some of the time leaks are caused by damage or deterioration of the tiles, flashings and other parts of the roof.

But, sometimes tiled roofs leak even if there is nothing wrong with the tiles. This happens to older roofs because the underlay - the waterproof sheet under the tiles - rots. When rain blows under the tiles it drips onto the ceiling.

Replacing the underlay is expensive. All the tiles and battens (strips of wood that support the tiles) have to come off. You always need new battens and often new tiles if the old tiles can't be reused.

We waterproof older tiled roofs by sealing the gaps so no water can get in. It's faster, less risky and much cheaper than replacing the underlay. Here's how:-

1. We apply a first coat of sealant which closes any small holes.
2. Once that's dry we caulk bigger holes and gaps between tiles with a thicker sealant.
3. Then, we finish by spraying a final coat.

The sealant comes in any colour you want. It looks great and lasts.

We waterproof metal roofs.

Metal roofs in our area usually leak because of rust. If the rusted sheets are badly damaged we'll replace them. If we can save the sheets we'll patch the holes with a membrane.

We then use a 3 step process to waterproof and protect the roof:-

1. We start by applying a rust converter. This makes the rust chemically stable so it won't get worse.
2. We then apply a zinc-based primer which defends the roof from further rusting.
3. We finish with a waterproofing layer in the colour of your choice.

We waterproof concrete roofs, patios and decks.

Concrete roofs and patios leak where pipes and other fittings come through the slab or because of tiny - almost invisible- cracks.

We fix concrete roofs (and patios and decks) using a 5-layer system.

1. Bonding liquid. This penetrates into the top layer of the concrete and makes it harder.
2. Cementitious liquid with microfibres. This is very sticky and provides the bed for the next layer.
3. Fibreglass mesh. The mesh is much stronger than a normal membrane. It stops the waterproofing from cracking as the slab expands and contracts with the day/night temperature fluctuations. Without the mesh layer your waterproofing would fail in a few months.
4. An flexible UV resistant acrylic-based seal coat.
5. A second coat of the same sealant.

We waterproof fibre cement (asbestos) roofs.

Fibre-cement (asbestos) roofs in our area usually leak because of damage to the sheets.

We'll replace these if they're too damaged. If we can save the sheets we'll patch the holes with a membrane.

We then apply 2 coats of flexible UV resistant acrylic-based waterproofing. We can match any colour you want.
